Lower Your Standards? (Matthew Hussey)

About a year ago I got invited to do a blog for Psychology Today. I pitched several topics to the editor and she settled on Ambigamy: Insights for the deeply romantic and deeply skeptical. The timing for this blog’s launch was awkward.

Don’t think you are cursed because your are still solo up to now. Instead its time to take advantage of this free time that you have to utilize for yourself be sure there is nothing wrong with you. The best time to enjoy most of the things that you wouldn’t enjoy when you are in a relationship is know, its time to know and explore more that you wouldn’t have rather explored when you were in a relationship depending on the responsibilities.

There is no problem of being solo or being alone for a long time. Many have wondered why they are still solo since they broke up from their previous relationship, truly there is nothing wrong with you but this is the best time to enjoy your life to the fullest. When you are solo, it’s the best time to enjoy those things that you wouldn’t enjoy when you are in a relationship.

Like many single, independent woman out there, you may be thinking about how to get a boyfriend. Not having someone there to exchange meaningful conversation, intimacy or share your experiences with may lead you to feeling miserable or unwanted at times. It is not related to your attractiveness or success, you just need to know how to meet and keep the good QUALITY guys that come into your life.

If you are having trouble trying to find yourself a boyfriend, it’s not a big deal. Many females of all ages have had the same problem at one point or another. Finding and attracting the opposite sex is nothing but a learn skill just like any other.

Having a good wingman is incredibly important. Obviously, the wingman skillset is profoundly different from going out solo to pick up women. Both skills are necessary to have, in my opinion, but I generally prefer going with a buddy who knows his stuff and has my back when it comes to flirting with women. A wingman should be your friend first and foremost before he’s a PUA (Pick Up Artist), you can do both: work on your skillset as well as enjoy going out with friends and picking up girls. However, in the interest of making sure everyone’s goals are fulfilled, you need rules so that each of you are being a good wingman to each other to avoid misunderstandings.

As Christmas approaches you probably wonder what presents to give. If you have a partner you want to show how much you love him/her. You are also curious what gift they’ll give you. But if you don’t have a partner, here’s an idea for a great gift you can give to yourself this holiday season.

It is the difference between being able to move around effortlessly and flapping around like a spastic drowning chimpanzee. Having the ability to small talk is a major component of attraction.

The thing is, if you approach him you’d seem desperate, but if you don’t you may never get noticed. It’s a tough dilemma that many women face. What can you do to get a good man into your life?
